Positive Behaviour for Learning merit awards

Merit cards

Castle Hill Public School is a 'Positive Behaviour for Learning' (PBL) school. Our school expectations are 'Respect, Responsible and Aspire'. Students are rewarded with a specific mini merit when they display these behaviours. These mini merits are then accumulated to gain higher achievements. The conversion chart is illustrated below. An explanation of how to redeem these awards is explained below the picture.

How parents can help?

It will be a great help if you remind your child that he or she needs to keep the mini merits they receive so that they can be awarded the certificate when they have a complete set. You may provide a special envelope, or a small clip lock bag in which the mini merits can be saved.

The students present these mini merit sets to their classroom teacher. You can also assist by checking your child has completed the following on the top card of each set:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Class
  • Stapled

Students new to the school

Students new to the school need to present their certificates with an explanatory letter from parents to Mrs Kohary (Deputy Principal 3-6) or Ms Machuca (Deputy Pincipal K-2) for consideration of advanced standing in the CHPS system. Students without certificates from their previous school will be monitored as to their entry level into the system.
