Student opportunities and activities

At Castle Hill Public School, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.

Our programs may include:

school sport, athletics and inter-school competitions
creative and performing arts groups and showcases
cultural and language activities
excursions and incursions
public speaking and debating
lunchtime and interest-based clubs
student leadership opportunities.

Our extra-curricular highlights

Debating and public speaking

Students can develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. They also have the chance to compete in local and state events.

Creative and performing arts

Our drama, music and art programs help students be creative and express themselves. They can join in concerts, art shows and drama activities.

Trips and excursions

Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.

PSSA sport

The Primary School Sports Association (PSSA) organises primary school sport at the district, area, state and national levels.

Students in Years 3-6 are eligible to try out for weekly inter-school competitions for summer and winter sports. If selected in one of teams students must abide by the
Player Code of Behaviour and follow all instruction from the coaches.

Students will travel by bus to sporting fields within the Castle Hill zone, they will be given a team shirt to wear for their sport and can provide their own equipment where required.

There is a cost involved for PSSA sport.
