Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign

Due to the Gallipoli centenary, the first 4 weeks of Term 2 will involve a study of texts relevant to Anzac Day.

Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 Students

Students in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 will be learning about Anzac day through a number of texts.

These texts have been chosen to:

  • connect students to the wider world
  • to understand the importance of easily recognised Anzac symbols
  • to compare illustrators' use of colour and design to engage the reader of each text
  • to engage students using interest levels of ES1 and S1 students.

Stage 2 and Stage 3 students

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign in 1915, a study will be completed by Stage 2 and 3 students reflecting on the relevant literature in the CHPS Library collection. Historical information is provided and discussed.

The teacher librarians engage with different groups each week to assess higher level reflections.

Borrowing of new books follows.
